Advertising, selection and appointment to the Parole Authority as a Community Member follows the requirements of the NSW Premier and Cabinet Board and Committee Guidelines.
When vacancies are available, this will be advertised on this website and also advertised in NSW media outlets.
Applications cannot be received outside of the advertised period.
Potential candidates are required to submit an electronic application - answering a number of questions - that is considered by a selection panel.
If successful through the electronic application process, candidates may be asked to participate in an interview to further assess suitability for the role.
The Minister for Counter Terrorism and Corrections is then presented with an applicant summary containing the evidence gathered relating to applicants and the panel's recommendation for appointments.
Probity checks are completed for the recommended applicants.
The Minister will make recommendations regarding appointments which is forwarded to Cabinet for approval and final appointment by the Governor of NSW.
Alternatively, the Minister may directly appoint Community Members to the Parole Authority.
